DESCRIPTION
This SoftPaq contains a binary image for the System ROM for the notebook models listed below with a 68P4C Family ROM. This SoftPaq is used to flash the System ROM on target PCs on a network, and it requires System Software Manager (SSM) or Remote Management Setup. The ROM Family and ROM date can be determined by running the Setup Utility by pressing F10 on the target computer during system power on of the computer, and viewing File/System Information
ENHANCEMENTS
- Updates new PXE boot agent to Version 4.1.09
- Supports new 32-byte serial number format
FIXES
- Fixes issue where L1 cache showed only 16kb instead of 20kb in F10 Setup
IMPORTANT: DO NOT TURN OFF POWER TO THE COMPUTER WHILE PERFORMING THIS PROCEDURE
HOW TO USE
1. Download the SoftPaq to a temporary, empty directory on your hard drive. The file downloaded is a self-extracting executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above
2. The BIOS/ROM image file must be used with Remote Management Software in order to actually flash (upgrade) the ROM image on one of the affected Presario/Evo notebooks
3. When used with SSM, copy the SoftPaq to the file store
4. When used with WINFLASH, run the SoftPaq to get the .cab file.
