A later update to LG CD-ROM Firmware which resolves a problem these drives have when reading CD-R media with more than 10 tracks. This may occur on CD's that have been created on a CD-writer. This patch is only for those models which have Goldstar LG CD-ROM drives. This patch updates the firmware revision for the following LG CD-ROMs: CRD-8240B (is updated to rev 1.19), CRD-8320B (is updated to rev 1.11), and CRD-8322B is updated to rev 1.06. Download the file and double-click the filename to unzip the files. This update will create a directory on the hard disk, (C:CDUpdate) which contains the files needed to update the firmware revision of CRD-8240B, CRD-8320B or CRD-8322B CD-ROM drives. To actually update your CD-ROMs firmware, perform the following: 1). Reboot your PC into Ms DOS mode. 2). At the C:> prompt, enter 'cd CDUpdate' and press ENTER. If you specified a different directory during the unzipping, type that directory instead. 3). Type 'Update' and press ENTER. 4). Select your model CD-ROM from the list presented. 5). When complete, type EXIT to reboot back to Windows. To determine your exact CD-ROM Model Number, perform the following before rebooting into DOS: 1). Right-Click on My Computer. 2). Select Properties from the pop-up menu. 3). Click on the Device Manager tab. 4). Click the plus sign ('+') next to CD-ROM. 5). The CD-ROM (s) attached to your system are displayed. You should see CRD-8240B, CRD-8320B or CRD-8322B. If you do not have one of these drives, this patch is not needed. If you do see one of these drives, make note of the model number and use this in step #4 above.
