Why do I need it
This patch version 1.05 should only be used on systems with the LG CD-RW Model number 8083
with Firmware revision 1.04. To check your system, do the following
1. Click Start / Settings / Control Panel and click System
2. Click the Device Manager Ta
3. Select CD-ROM. The CD-RW driver should be listed in this section
4. Highlight the CD-RW and click Properties, then click the Settings Tab.
The CD-RW model will be listed on Top, and the Firmware revision will be on th
second line on the right. If you have the correct Firmware, download and install
the patch by following these instructions

What do I do with it
To install this update you must boot from a floppy disk created with the following steps
1. Create a bootable floppy disk by double clicking on My Computer
2. Locate the 3 1/2 inch floppy drive
3. Using the "Right" mouse button, click once
4. Select Format in the pull down list that appears from the previous ste
5. Select the "Copy System Files Only" and Press Start Once the floppy is created do the following
1. Go to the location on your hard drive where you downloaded the patch
2. Double click the lg105.exe fil
3. The WinZip Self-Extractor dialog box appears and states "LG CD-RW Firmware Update 1.05. To be used on LG CD-RW model 8083B with 1.04 firmware ONLY!. These Files Need to be expanded to a BOOTABLE FLOPPY
To install this update, boot from the floppy and follow the prompts" Click on OK
4. Put the Bootable floppy in the A: drive and click on Unzip
5. This creates the installation disk for the Update. To install the update simply Shut Down and Restart your system with the floppy you just created in drive A:. The files will install automatically upon system start up. Please note any messages and follow all instructions on screen as the update continues.
