Why do I need it
This firmware update is designed to make the CD-RW drive compatible with the software applications in Microsoft(R) Windows XP.
WARNING: You should only use this update if your existing Samsung SW-208F CD-RW drive is already using firmware revision FN07 or later (like FN09) and you are running the Windows-ME operating system. An update to address users who have firmware earlier than FN07 is under development and will be available as soon as possible. (You can check your existing firmware revision by opening Device Manager and checking the CD-RW’s properties
How do I get it
Download winxp_fw.exe from this page and save it to a blank formatted floppy disk (A: drive)
What do I do with it
This update must be installed in Windows Me
If Windows XP is already installed, use the Windows XP update
In My Computer Double-click the A: drive then double click sfdnwin.ex
As the file executes, you will be given an opportunity to click on Open and then select the file 'M100.bin'
Click on the Down icon and the firmware will be updated
When the update has been completed, remove the floppy disk from the A: drive and reboot the computer.
