Update Description
This Motion Computing A04 BIOS Update is to be applied to the M1400 Windows XP Tablet PC only.
This Updated release addresses:
Bluetooth Device not Detected in Windows - on some tablets the Bluetooth device is detected intermittently on power up of a system that has been powered off for several hours
System Power Up on Battery failure seen in interim BIOS between A02 & A04
For a few select customers who received interim BIOS(s) and were seeing a failure to rotate on pressing the rotate button, this BIOS update fixes that failure
Details
NOTE prior to updating to the A04 BIOS, the customer must verify the AuthenTec Driver installed is not version 6.26.1.0
To Check the AuthenTec Driver versio
1. Click on Start > Control panel.
If the Control Panel window in Category view, Click on Performance and Maintenance and click on System.
If the Control Panel window in Classic View double click on System icon.
2. On the System Properties, click on Hardware tab
3. Click on Device Manager
4. In the Device Manager, click + on Universal Serial Bus controller to expand the category
5. Double click on AuthenTec AES250
6. On the AuthenTec AES2501 properties, click on Driver tab
7. The driver version is the 3rd item from the top. Check for driver version 6.25.0.0.
To Rollback the AuthenTec Driver if you have version 6.26.1.
After getting to step #7 above do the followin
1. In AuthenTec AES2501 properties, click on Roll Back Drive
2. A warning window will pop up Are you sure you would like to roll back to the previous driver
3. Click on Ye
4. The driver will roll back to previous version and user can see the change on AuthenTec AES2501 properties. The driver version should reflect 6.25.0.
5. Close AuthenTec AES2501 properties
6. Driver rolled back and there is no need to restart system.
7. Close Device Manager, System Properties and Control Panel Window
8. End of roll back
Steps To Apply Update
Download the BIOS file to the default location or to a directory location of your choice
Run WinPhlash, following displayed instructions to upgrade the BIOS.
