1. 1. Download the firmware updat
   program.

1. 2. Close all applications and remov
   any discs from the PC optical drives (CD or DVD).

1. 3. Double-click the icon for th
   update file downloaded in step 1, and then click NEXT.

1. 4. Accept the terms in the HP licens
   agreement, and then click NEXT.

1. 5. Go to the next step for the type o
   media you are using, either a blank floppy diskette or a blank CD-
   disc.

1. 6. In the "Cyberdrive/­Argu
   DM168D-B...." window, select Floppy Diskette and then clic
   OK.

1. 7. Insert the blank floppy diskett
   and click OK in the "Cyberdrive/­Argus DM168D-B...." window.

1. 8. Wait a few minutes for the progra
   to make the Firmware Update diskette.

1. 9. Leave the floppy diskette in th
   floppy drive and click OK to restart the PC.

1. 10. Follow the onscreen instruction
   to update the firmware. Be sure to read the instructions carefully
   Failure to follow the instructions will damage the drive.

1. 11. After the firmware update i
   complete, remove the floppy diskette from the floppy drive an
   restart the PC.

1. 6. In the "Cyberdrive/­Argu
   DM168D-B...." window, select CD Disc and then click OK.

1. 7. Click OK in the "Cyberdrive/­Argu
   DM168D-B...." window.

1. 8. To make sure the firmware updat
   file is visible on your PC, click Start on the taskbar and the
   click My Computer.

1. 9. From the Tools menu, select Folde
   Options, and then click the View tab.

1. 10. Under Hidden Files and Folders
   select Show Hidden Files and Folders, and then click OK.

1. 11. To continue with the remainin
   update steps, go below to the appropriate instructions for the C
   recording software you are going to use.

   choose All Programs, CD (DVD) Recorder, RecordNow, and then selec
   RecordNow.

   window, click Make a Data Disc.
