Why Would I Need to Perform a Firmwar
Upgrade?

Similar to Hewlett Packard providing improved software for you
hp Color LaserJet 3700, HP will be providingfirmware upgrades fo
your printer throughout its lifecycle. A firmware upgrade may b
necessary if you determine you benefit from an improvement that i
documented in the Readme file.

What is Included in a Remote Firmwar
Upgrade?

The HP CLJ3700 Remote Firmware Update file available from the H
web site contains firmware for the printer/mfp, embedded JetDirec
(if applicable), all HP paper handling accessories used with th
device and fax accessories (if applicable) in one convenien
download file. When the Remote Firmware Upgrade file is sent to th
HP LaserJet CLJ3700, firmware for the engine and all connecte
accessories are upgraded. Determining the Curren
Level of Firmware To determine the current level of firmwar
installed on the device:For Multifunction Devices

Go to the devices control panel.
Press the "Menu" button.
Press the "INFORMATION" selection on the touch screen contro
panel.
Press the "PRINT CONFIGURATION" selection to print th
Configuration Page.
On the printed CONFIGURATION page look in the section marke
"Device Information" for the firmware date code.

The firmware date code will look something like this:2004032
07.000.0For Single Function Devices

Go to the devices control panel.
Press the green checkmark button.
Use the scroll keys and select the "INFORMATION" selection o
the touch screen control panel.
Use the scroll keys and select the "PRINT CONFIGURATION
selection.
Press the green checkmark button to print the Configuratio
Page.
On the printed CONFIGURATION page look in the section marke
"Device Information" for the firmware date code.

Download and Upgrade Information

	WARNING: Please review the Readme file for detaile instructions on how to upgrade single and multiple printers.**
	Note: this download file supports both single and multipl printer upgrades.
	Multiple Printer Upgrade: If upgrading for multiple printer Web JetAdmin V.6.1 or later is required. After downloading th firmware file, click here if necessary to download 'http://www.hp.com/go/webjetadmin_software'>Web JetAdmin ( 'http://www.hp.com/go/webjetadmin_software'>http://www.hp.com/go/webjetadmin_software)

Download into a temporary directory of your choice.
Run the file name to extract. Please note that this fil
extracts into a directory. You will have the opportunity to chang
the drive and directory.
You are now ready to perform the upgrade process. For
successful upgrade, these file(s) MUST be prepared per th
'Upgrade' instructions in the Readme file.
